As a sponsor of the Dallas Stars Elite Hockey Club, FloorballPlanet was privileged to set up a display to promote floorball and sell floorball sticks at the 99 SuperSeries Tournament held at the DPSC Valley Ranch, Texas. With eight AAA hockey teams from across the country participating, many young hockey players were introduced to floorball and were able to see how this growing sport could be used to enhance their hockey skills. It was a busy weekend of floorball for the FloorballPlanet team.  On Saturday, for the 4th year in a row, FloorballPlanet participated in the Austin Active Life Event together with the Austin Floorball Club. About 200 children played floorball in a real floorball rink set up at the Tony Burger Center. Excellent weather made the day enjoyable for both participants and exhibitors.
 On Sunday, the Forest Vista Elementary School parking lot in Fort Worth became an outdoor activity center when Girl Scouts and FloorballPlanet played for the parking lot floorball championship. Coed teams (parents and children) played through a mini floorball tournament in a real floorball rink. Players were rewarded with ice cream and warm sunshine. When are we going to see a floorball tournament between different scout troops?

FloorballPlanet hosted the 2011 Texas Winter Shootout floorball tournament at Lone Star Indoor Sports Center, 1800 Shady Oaks Lane, Denton TX. Four of the best adult floorball teams in Texas battled for the right to be crowned the best in Texas. After the preliminary qualification games, the Dallas Fireballs faced off against the Austin FC Elite in the Championship Round. Austin emerged victorious and obtained the right to take home the newly created Texas Championship Trophy. Final standings: (1) Austin FC Elite, (2) Dallas Fireballs, (3) Austin Team 7, (4) Dallas 2. Our thanks to those players who participated and to Lone Star Indoor Sports for their outstanding hospitality. Next up...Canada Cup!
